When we got the work order for this job, we only had 2 months to deliver. Furthermore, Cadet Colleges has very poor internet connectivity and non-technical users. We chose wordpress for 13 CMS sites with custom modules and themes to help a non-technical user manage the site. For the admission system we used 2 frameworks Yii and Ember. JS with ember was the front-end technology, Yii was the backend technology. We also used caching in all modules to make it workable in slow internet connectivity.
RDL previously tried with a SL company who provided their ERP to develop a SnOP solution. The challenge with RDL was their number of different product lines and products. When we come in to the scene with one of our Canadian partner, we introduced few new technologies for ETL and OLAP DB. We used Palo from Jedox for OLAP, and Talend for ETL. Our selection of right tool saved time and solved their problem.
Airtel wanted to create a workflow manager for their roll out operation. This was a multi department workflow with external stakeholders. Also we had a tight delivery schedule. We used Groovy with Grails and MySQL database to create a secure Spring framework based web application. Choice of tools really paid off, as we could deliver the core application within a short period of time. Airtel also has some existing sites, and we had to upload those data as well. We used our preferred ETL tool, Talend Open Studio to do this job fairly easily.
